Electronic Notary Acts

With the introduction of e-Apostilles through the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) it is now possible and necessary to produce electronic notarial acts that can, if required, also be e-Apostilled for use in foreign countries.

The process requires the production of an electronic document that is electronically signed and sealed by way of a Qualified Electronic Signature. This produces a secure document that can then be emailed either to the FCDO for the e-Apostille or directly to the foreign country.

How to Get an e-Apostille

The e-Apostille is also issued by the UK FCDO and this adds an electronic apostille to the notarised document. In order to obtain the e-Apostille the notarised act will have to be submitted in a secure electronic format. It is important to ensure that the receiving country is willing to accept notarial acts and apostille in electronic format.

Not all documents can be submitted for electronic processing so please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
